Fall


        
Fall

It is red, orange, yellow everywhere.
Leaves changing one by one
to beautiful colors, each with a different trait.
Transforming into bright uniqueness.
A little piece of heaven that we get to witness each year.
The trees drop leaves that glide in the air
Peacefully fall to cover the grounds
Of red, orange, yellow.




Vocabulary

Peacefully: not in a state of war or disagreement; peace
Trait: A distinguishing feature, as of a person's character.
Transform: To change markedly the appearance or form of.
Unique: Being the only one of its kind.
Heaven: The sky or universe as seen from the earth
Ground: The solid surface of the earth; soil.  

Cloze Exercise: Fill in the blanks with the correct word from the list above

Grammar Point

Adverbs typically answer questions such as how?, in what way?, when?, where?, and to what extent?. An adverb can modify a verb, an adjective, another adverb, a phrase, or a clause. An adverb indicates manner, time, place, cause, or degree.

Example: The dressmaker quickly made the dress.

In this sentence, the adverb "quickly" modifies the verb "made" and indicates in what manner (or how fast) the clothing was constructed.

Grammar Assignment

Write three sentences describing what you do in the fall/autumn.  For each sentence make sure to use an adverb.
